The record is read-only and hand-written; numbers collide and private knowledge
has no home. Framed as questions, weighing git as the store against a store
with hq as its public export.
Every controller change walks the core's tier and holds up every other walk
(issue 382), while most of the week's change sat in one package. Framed as
questions: which domain changes most and needs the core least.
Issue numbers collided while each author read main and the open pull
requests; since 2026-10-10 the tracker (ADR 0275) hands them out. The
playbook and the hq-new-issue skill now open every issue there, keep a
folder only for a design or governance issue, and say where its status
lives until slice 3. Research 042's finding that the SDK had no
compare-and-set is corrected, and to-be 53 names the module's code.
Numbers taken by reading a repository many branches write at once collide;
one counter in a module of the mesh's own, advanced by compare-and-set,
ends that at the source. The operator delegated the five open questions
on 2026-10-10; each is decided as the research recommended. The glossary
gains the issue tracker, retires "ticketing system" and lists ticket as a
homonym, since ADR 0258 already uses it for an answer's one-time token.
Opens the effort the operator asked for on 2026-10-10: an issues module on the bus that hands out
numbers atomically, so agents stop colliding on them, and takes in the 357 issue folders. Findings
cover the first slice, where the truth lives, the import, conditions, views, and hits as a model.
The setuid search did not finish within its bound on the control-node, so no
approval proven there is honoured; a confined start may answer the question
ADR 0259 asks directly, at a cost that does not grow with the disks.
Research 040 measured the homes on four nodes: a skill retired a week ago on all four, the
operator's rules on one, nothing raised. The module now owns every configuration file under
the agent's home, excludes the program's working state by name, and raises agent-home-drift
on a hand edit; a fourth scope carries the operator's personal rules to every node; an agent
proposes a lesson when corrected and the operator accepts it at the terminal or on a warrant.
To-be 36 §10 and to-be 40 WP7–WP10 say what is built; ADR 0216 and 0243 gain notes.
The operator asked for one place that lists every module's preferences and each machine's value, and
for a list of the values the catalogues hard-code that should become preferences.
The bus's own numbers were unexplained and raised by nothing. Measured again
read-only: mesh-delivery rewrites unchanged deliveries (326), every controller
verb dials its own connection (327), API errors have no reader (328), event
consumers outlive their declaration (329), and design 25's dead-letter stream
was never built (330). The two slow consumers join issue 270, whose missing
system account they share.
The store's tools counted 23.8 GiB nothing records: copied bases the sweep could never
let go of, platforms a let-go index left behind, and images from before the mesh. Package
retention read no lockfile, so it kept versions by age alone.
Research 033 measured the laptop's VPN client and the mesh overwriting each
other's resolver file in nine of nine sessions, each time cutting off one
kind of name. The operator chose a resolver module on a node seat of its
own, installed only where something requires split-dns, with the VPN
client's module carrying the adapter. Graduates research 033 into to-be 50,
and amends connectivity §2, to-be 48 §10, the seats and the glossary.
ADR 0244 sorts the mesh's concepts into ten domains (ADR 0006's contexts
carry over as domains), keeps machine and node as distinct words, and
makes the glossary the authority with every retired word on its
replacement's Not: line. To-be 49 draws the domains; the glossary is
reorganised by them, its two contradictions removed and the missing
words added. words.py now fails on a retired word in running prose and
on a word defined twice, so the rule is enforced rather than believed;
the 63 documents it failed on are reworded here, and research 034 is
kept as the record of the words it studied.
The operator asked for one language per domain because the same concept
keeps arriving under different words. Inventory the words in use, test a
domain split, list the clashes with evidence, and describe how the
glossary rule would be checked.
The laptop's VPN client replaces the mesh's resolver file on every connect and
the node-engine writes it back minutes later, so either the mesh's names or the
corporate ones fail for whole sessions. Measure how the client sets DNS and
weigh how names can be routed by domain without breaking ADR 0223's one-answer
rule.
The gate judged a module by what the mesh sees from outside, so a crash loop and an
eleven-hour silent web app passed it. Graduates research 032 on the operator's word.
The release gate judges a module from outside (applied, no new condition,
tools answer); a container that restarts in a loop or a service that fails
its own work passes it. Investigate a health declaration in every manifest.
Research 028 graduates: the mesh needs to ask as well as tell, over
channels that are seats rather than code inside one notifier, and an
action a person must approve cannot rest on a desk click an agent can
forge. TOTP verified by the controller is the proof; a key stays optional.
Amends to-be 45 section 5 as ADR 0227 left it to.
The operator widened the direction: asks need not be about permission, the work context picks
the channel, and desktop buttons should serve at the desk. Make the conversation the core model
and keep authorisation as a layer on top, with proofs a desk click alone cannot give.
The operator asked to approve and reject through Telegram, for a generic shape in which a
channel holds a seat, for input triggers, and for capabilities that decide which actions travel
where. Widen 028 rather than open a new effort, since its Q1, Q7 and Q8 own the question.
The operator approved the conclusion: the core must say when it is wrong
instead of waiting to be looked at. Record the nine rules with their
checks, and specify the parts and the six phases a build can take.
The operator's mandate: races, ignored commands and silence keep recurring.
Classifies 48 recent issues by class, proposes nine checkable principles and
a phased roadmap, for review before anything graduates.
Graduates research 029 and amends design 36 (section 8): skills, subagents,
commands, hooks and output styles in one nox-mesh plugin; servers, settings
and instructions in the managed files; mesh, node and home scopes.
The operator scoped backups to mistakes, not disasters (issue 242). Issue 238: fix the failed logins
at their source instead of exempting the operator's address.
Six of seven checks confirmed and autoMode from managed settings very likely;
the agent cannot undo its own managed settings, which a design must allow for.
The operator's direction: mesh, node and home. A plugin carries the first
two; the home scope places items the module owns path by path; instructions
follow the same layering.
Skills, subagents and hooks have no machine-wide place but a plugin, and
hand-copied homes have drifted and gone stale on every machine. Records the
evidence, what the vendor allows, and the options a decision must settle.
Evidence from both workstations and all four machines, read-only, and the
questions each must answer: seats and gating for the display stack, who starts
the session with which environment, contributions beyond shells, sway as a
sibling session; the container runtime with docker-compose on workstations
only, software outside the official repositories, secrets in the account's
environment, and three security findings.
ADR 0203: the account's environment is one module's (seat node-environment);
every module contributes variables and PATH entries, rendered by the
controller as a POSIX file and as environment.d.
ADR 0204: shell code is contributed to the login shell in named slots, and
login-shell becomes the mesh's node-login-shell.
ADR 0205: software the distribution does not package ships as a pinned
archive of the module.
Issue 225: undeclaring a user stops a node applying; the shell is never
given back or checked.
To-be 41 carries the work packages; to-be 38 WP5 points to it.
