The operator, 2026-10-26: "every release should only run 1 check or 1 try"; "we don't have more processing power". The instruction section how-work-is-done was replaced on the operator's Approve (20:47 CET); this makes the playbooks say the same: no try (unless the operator asks), nothing pushed and no pull request (draft or not) before the review approves, no fix rounds pushed to an open pull request, a group is one check with every member pinning the group's mesh-sdk head, a failed check is read and never re-asked, and read what is decided before designing (ADR 0548). playbooks.html follows (the try box and bar removed; the check is one status, mesh/check).
Quick fix: change only the instruction section. Thorough fix (chosen): the playbooks too, since sessions follow them.

Build capacity is the mesh's scarcest resource: a try before and after the review plus a check per fix round on an open pull request spent it several times per release.
