A new docker module tool, docker_volumes_remove_anonymous (level a): removes anonymous volumes (docker's com.docker.volume.anonymous label, as docker_volumes decides) that no container mounts in any state, so none a mesh-held container holds. Optional created_before (RFC 3339). Every other volume is answered with why it stays. No volume can be named; a named volume is never taken. Answers count, names removed and skipped volumes with reasons, each candidate's size, and the bytes freed (freed_bytes, summed over the volumes actually removed; would_free_bytes in a dry run).
Why
Issue 1796: no mesh tool removed leftover anonymous volumes, and docker_prune never touches a volume.
How it is checked
Two unit tests with the module's fake docker (1796/AC1 selection, dry run, each removal separate, skipped reasons including the mesh-held one, sizes and totals; 1796/AC2 refusal of named arguments, why required, bad time). The module's tests and vet pass; mesh-controller.try run build-1792619211438054446 on 07b3c5e77a passed. Dry run is the default; dry_run false needs why. Classification reuses Client.Volumes.

2026-10-21 22:20 delivering → delivered (done): its walk is done, carrying its own commit: every machine of its deploy plan passed, or was left as its policy says

What
A new docker module tool,
docker_volumes_remove_anonymous(level a): removes anonymous volumes (docker'scom.docker.volume.anonymouslabel, asdocker_volumesdecides) that no container mounts in any state, so none a mesh-held container holds. Optionalcreated_before(RFC 3339). Every other volume is answered with why it stays. No volume can be named; a named volume is never taken. Answers count, names removed and skipped volumes with reasons, each candidate's size, and the bytes freed (freed_bytes, summed over the volumes actually removed;would_free_bytesin a dry run).Why
Issue 1796: no mesh tool removed leftover anonymous volumes, and
docker_prunenever touches a volume.How it is checked
Two unit tests with the module's fake docker (1796/AC1 selection, dry run, each removal separate, skipped reasons including the mesh-held one, sizes and totals; 1796/AC2 refusal of named arguments, why required, bad time). The module's tests and vet pass;
mesh-controller.tryrun build-1792619211438054446 on07b3c5e77apassed. Dry run is the default; dry_run false needswhy. Classification reusesClient.Volumes.Reviewed-by: reviewer-1796@shanks at
