A node's plans took 2.6-13.6 s of CPU on the provisioner: one composition
resolved every machine of the mesh some two hundred times (who is on the
private network, and the rest of the mesh, worked out again on every
look), three compositions did so again each, and the holder composed
twice. A composer now works each out once over its unchanging Input;
Composing gives Resolve, Render and Generators one composer;
PlansHeldTwice composes the wanted and the newest builds over one read of
the bus, says where the time went by phase, and the states reader keeps a
build's take-in by its content. WatchedStates takes a process's own
writes into the copy at once, so a holder reads its own states from it.
Measured on a captured novox mesh: 11.7 s to 0.49 s per composition of an
unchanged node, plans and provisions identical on all four nodes.

A read could start a state's watch before its follower joined, and a change landing in that gap woke nothing (review
of ADR 0580 §2): a joining follower now runs over the copy's current values before any later change. The watched
reader keeps each archive once per URL, and both caches are bounded.

The controller's hand-act and warranted are gone (issue 1953 L5b) and the bus refuses them, so the recorder no longer
falls back to them: an act the seat does not take is an error saying nothing was recorded. And ADR 0580 clause 1's
reader is shown reading a build by key each time and a manifest once per digest.

Review round 1 (issue 1585): L1, DataItemsHeld holds a module by the culprit rule PlansHeld uses, a held module's
data left out, so an item its composition refuses holds that module alone; L2, mesh-sdk's own tests scan its go/
tree as mesh-catalog's checks/sdkjudge does, with the same list of composition's refusals. Two tests merged into one.

Issue 1585, S2: one refused manifest silenced disk-load for 45 hours. frombus decodes leniently, takes the
indexer's verdict, stands a refused module in as its stub and names it in Input.Refused; DataItemsHeld names it.

mesh/check checking 754edfae6924 on 16932c93d672 | novox/mesh-sdk#139 in group fix/one-bad-item-holds-one-module
On 2026-10-30 at 19:13 power's bar item (mesh-catalog ca8d6f33) was refused by ParseManifest, and frombus's input
returned that refusal for the whole read: every node-engine marked all its modules failed and no update could land.
The third of a kind that day, after the bus user list and the provisioner's plans (PlansHeld).
Quick fix: skip a manifest that does not parse in input's catalogue loop. Thorough fix: input follows the rule a build
that cannot be read already follows there (refuse + stub), so Compose, Answer and PlansHeld all hold the one module:
held with why on a node it is placed on, read for its offer alone (its unjudged stub, without items) elsewhere. A
manifest the bus does not answer for still ends the read (transient, waited out by the caller), and Input (refuse
unset, the check's whole composition) still refuses. Chose thorough: one place serves all three callers.
PlansHeld holds a module whose build cannot be taken in or whose plan refuses, by composeEach's rule, and composes
every other module's plan; sealedFor gives a file the stand-in its own secret's file has (baserow on ace); shipsABundle
reads a built manifest's Bundles (nats on novox).
