Design 47's milestone R2c held a release order its prepare step found on 2026-10-19 (playbook 07 step 0, playbook 04: a milestone that holds a release order is split). The node-engine's alive message is the only source of when the controller last heard a machine, which nodes, node and status read; deleting the sender first would make every idle machine read out of touch.

R2c: issue 1183, mesh-controller: every reader of last heard takes the watchman's presence; the controller's alive side is deleted.
R2d: issue 1158, the node-engine: its alive side is deleted, delivered after R2c (1158 depends on 1183).

Both stay in ADR 0429's release 2 (§7) and ADR 0433 §3. hq's four checks pass.
