The review of #304: with more than three keys the ask showed only the names of the rest, a long value was
cut without a word, and the Details held no key, so Approve bound values the operator never saw. The
Details now list every key uncut — masked, and whole in WholeDetails for a channel that proves who
answers — before who proposed it and the fingerprint; the glance says what it cut. Vendors mesh-sdk at
f474544 and captures its conformance events there.
The operator could not read the settings proposals on the phone: the change, the fingerprint and a how-to
paragraph in one wall of plain text, and the values masked as ‹path› and ‹address›, so the approval was
blind.
The ask is now a summary of what changes where ("Changes 3 setting(s) of mounts on shanks; approved, the
layer is set at once and shanks takes it at its next push."), then at most three points, one key each (more
keys: the first two and the names of the rest). Who proposed it, the fingerprint and how to read it whole
are its Details, which the router notes after the answers. The change is carried twice: under the content
rule, and whole (asks.Ask.Whole), shown only on a channel that proves who answers, a value shaped like a
secret withheld in both (from the earlier work on issue 383, #202).

mesh/merge-gate head a641ed7d15c7 merged into trunk b12c4b82e820 — pass: builds build-agent, mesh-controller → ace, g14, novox, shanks; no bus step; every …
With npm-package-registry optional, the binding file the agent's environment
names may be absent, and mesh-builder failed every build on reading it. It now
reads the genesis document the installer seals at genesis's packages step when
no binding is present, prefers the binding when both are, and each build's log
says which it resolved from (§4). A build that needs the registry - a package,
an image naming .npmrc, TypeScript with an @novox/ dependency - on an agent with
neither is refused before anything is built or published, naming the machine,
the unbound requirement and gitea (§6); it never falls back to the public
registry. The captured catalogue moves to the mesh-catalog change it is judged
with.
mesh-host #96 replaced foundation-first-node-nats.lock with foundation-first-node.lock,
and the test that holds the installer's first user list to the controller's composition
still read the removed file, so repo-check failed on main and every pull request. The
captured copy moves to mesh-host 7a41e12, with the placement guard at the same commit.
mesh/merge-gate pass: builds build-agent, mesh-controller, route-proxy → ace, g14, novox, shanks; no bus step; every machine composes with the change as it…
Since #256 delivered, the node-engine judges every read-write access by the path's group alone and
states six media modules unhealthy on ace, though they write their folders as the owner; every
delivery there fails its gate (hq issue 567). ADR 0325 replaces ADR 0312; until it is built, the
controller sends no grant, as before #256.
This reverts commit 3cfc121670.

The controller now asks mesh-delivery.groups, and mesh-host a76baa4b carries
that grant in the installer's first user list (mesh-host #85). The captured
copy is moved to that commit so the genesis test judges the list that ships.

A check clones mesh-sdk beside the controller at the commit go.mod pins; elsewhere
the test reads a copy captured at that commit, held to go.mod. A missing clone fails
instead of skipping.
Tests that read ../../../mesh-catalog or ../../../mesh-host gave a verdict
that depended on what sat beside the checkout: a stale or dirty sibling
failed them on a desktop, and a missing one skipped them unseen. They now
read the clone the build seat puts in MESH_CHECK_BESIDE, failing when it is
absent there, and elsewhere a copy captured at a named commit.
The skip had hidden that the builder test read a module retired by ADR 0190.
The systemd reading test no longer counts the machine's own environment.d.
