Issue 867, found live after #350: mesh-host#114's rechecks (02:00, 02:20) said "Siblings could not be learned: mesh-delivery did not say the group's pull requests (this controller is not on the bus)". delivery check runs as a command of its own, where servingBus is nil, and groupsAsked read only servingBus.

  • groupsAsked (group_wait.go) asks through onTheBus (handacts.go): the serving connection when there is one (the daemon's path is unchanged), else one dialled for the moment, as sayingOnTheBus does. The ask stays bounded by groupAskWithin; a dial that fails gives siblings_unknown, never a pass.
  • TestTheRecheckVerbAsksMeshDeliveryOnABusOfItsOwn: the real askDeliveryOwner, a test bus, a real groups responder, deliveryCommand check --members; fails on main af60d271 with the live message, passes here.

Review: independent Opus review, APPROVE at this content (local 0de91bcc, tree 4983da20 equal). Non-blocking note kept for later: with the bus down a recheck may wait two 10 s dials.

`delivery check` runs as a command of its own, where no serving connection exists, so a recheck said its siblings could not be learned ("this controller is not on the bus") and mesh-host#114 was judged without its sibling. groupsAsked now asks through onTheBus, which lends the serving connection or dials one, as the hand-act log does. TestTheRecheckVerbAsksMeshDeliveryOnABusOfItsOwn drives the verb against a real responder.
